Marriott Hotel & Conference Center
Hotel developer John Q. Hammons has agreed to build
a $40 million, full-service, Marriott Hotel and pay for
25 percent of an adjoining conference center. The
City of Murfreesboro will own the conference center and use
revenue from Gateway Center land sales to help pay for its
share.
Better Jobs – Right Here
Murfreesboro’s meeting space has not kept up with its growth. Existing employers like MTSU, Nissan and State Farm are forced to move large conferences to Nashville and Franklin, costing Murfreesboro jobs and tax dollars. Our lack of conference space also makes it harder to recruit new higher wage jobs.
